Handpan album update: Two of Brisbane’s finest join the lineup!

Lachlan Hawkins & Daniel Lopez in studio

I’m very excited to share with you that tracking for my studio album, No Enemy Within, is coming to a close… I’m on the home stretch!

Together with my producer Steve Thornely, this collection of songs has been over a 2-year collaboration. This time has been really necessary however as we’ve been able to get to the core of what my music means and what I wanted to say as an artist. Each song has been its own journey in every sense, and along the way, our ears have been drawn to include sounds away from the handpan to help bring this music to life.

I’m thrilled to accounce that acclaimed violinist Daniel Lopez (Qld Symphony Orchestra, Camerata, RUE Arts) will feature on the title track, No Enemy Within, and pianist Sophie Min – my close friend and musical collaborator of five years – will feature on the moody instrumental track Forge Ahead.

THE CURRENT ALBUM LINEUP

Both of these musicians are blazing their own paths not only in Brisbane but around the country and I’m so delighted that they are a part of this album – Daniel & Sophie join a growing lineup which now includes Tsoof Baras (handpan), Olivia Chindamo (Melbourne/New York – voice), Simon Svoboda (cello) and myself (handpan, voice, drums, percussion).

I hope you’re as excited as I am about this project… I’ll be in touch with more updates very soon!
